No, I don't think that's the case. It is the case if the technology brings people farther away from one another. If the technology fosters polarization, if it fosters anti democratic actions, if it discourages people from voting or participating in the democratic process in these senses like antisocial social media, really we do see other democratic jurisdictions passing laws trying to rein in such counter democratic forces in technology.
