Eric Schmidt, our chair, used to say during the AI Commission period that we were at the beginning of the beginning. Now it feels as if we are at the end of the beginning and moving into a middle phase. AI is out in the world, people are trying to make tools more useful, and there is a lot of Global South engagement too. Yesterday, for example, we had an Africa AI village here.
