In Taiwan, we’ve been upgrading democracy as a kind of technology to cut through this high‑PPM environment by building pro‑social media rather than anti‑social media. Anti‑social media is broadcast: the megaphone amplifies the extremes. Pro‑social media is broad listening: the viral megaphone lifts uncommon ground—ideas that resonate across people who would otherwise disagree.
